Team chat for the office
When your company uses team chat, Chat is in the console’s menu, with a count of unread messages. It has the same channels as the field app: a channel for each job’s crew, and company channels.
Read and post
Click a channel to open it. Type a message and click Send. Under each message you can Reply (press Esc or ✕ to cancel), and under your own you can Edit. Add photos attaches pictures, and Mute at the top stops that channel’s notifications except @mentions and replies to you.
Managers can read every job’s channel, but post only in their own and assigned jobs’ channels.
Company channels (Admins)
Admins click New channel, give it a Name, choose Everyone or Chosen people, and click Add channel. Edit channel renames it or changes who’s in it.
Hide a message (Admins)
If a message shouldn’t be in a channel, an Admin can hide it:
- Click Hide under the message.
- Optionally type a Reason. It’s kept in the audit log, not shown in the channel.
- Click Hide message.
The message keeps its place, shown to everyone as Message hidden by an admin, and replies that quoted it show Message removed. Its text and photos go to the audit log, and nobody in the channel sees them again. Only Admins see Hide.
