Install on a Mac
On a Mac, the office console installs from Safari, Chrome or Edge and gets its own icon in the Dock. Open ops.gumbyworks.com first. Crew use the field app on their phones instead: Which app do you need?
Safari (macOS Sonoma or later)
- Open ops.gumbyworks.com in Safari.
- Choose File > Add to Dock from the menu bar. Or click the Share button in the toolbar and choose Add to Dock.
- Leave the name as GumbyOps Office, or change it, and click Add.
The app keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari’s, so you sign in once inside it. In the app, choose Phone and sign in with your mobile number: an email sign-in link would open in your browser instead of the app.
Chrome or Edge
- Open ops.gumbyworks.com.
- Chrome: click the install button at the right end of the address bar, or open the menu and choose Cast, save, and share, then Install page as app (some versions say Install GumbyOps Office). Click Install.
- Edge: click the App available icon in the address bar, or open Settings and more , then Apps (under More tools in some versions), then Install this site as an app. Click Install.
In Chrome and Edge, the installed app shares your sign-in with the browser, so you’re usually signed in already.
Open it
Click GumbyOps Office in the Dock. It’s also in Launchpad and Spotlight like any other app. To keep it in the Dock, Control-click its icon and choose Options, then Keep in Dock.
Turn on alerts
In the console, open Settings and click Turn on alerts under Alerts on this device, then Allow. Turn alerts on inside the installed app, not in a browser tab, so they come from the app. Alerts in the office console explains which alerts you get.
How to tell you’re in the installed app
It has its own window with no tabs and no address bar, and its own icon in the Dock. A browser tab has the browser’s tabs and address bar above the console.
Remove it
- Safari: in the Finder, choose Go > Home, open the Applications folder, and drag GumbyOps Office to the Trash.
- Chrome: open the app, click the menu in its title bar, choose Uninstall GumbyOps Office, then Remove.
- Edge: go to
edge://appsin Edge, click Details on the app, then Uninstall.
Removing the app doesn’t change anything in your company’s GumbyOps account.
